The Capture Marine Recovery Process
The recovery of larger boats requires a highly specialized process set including locating the vessel, gaining command and control of the vessel, and delivery or storage of the vessel. Each of the components in this process requires a sophisticated skill set unique to the challenges found when dealing with multiple locations, manufactures and individual owners.
At Capture Marine, LLC we have the expertise and the experience to locate, seize and deliver nearly any vessel between 29 and 100 feet in length. We use a simple 4 step process:
1. We employ investigators with years of experience in skip tracing to locate the vessel.
2. Once the vessel is located, our planning team creates the recovery and delivery plan. The plan is designed to be the least intrusive, fastest, and safest method possible.
3. Once the plan is determined, our team of experienced recovery experts seize the vessel. Immediately upon seizure, our USCG licensed captains and crew deliver the vessel to its storage or resale location.
Resale
Just as each asset is individual in nature, so should each plan to resale the asset and recover the highest price possible. At Capture Marine, we can use an existing resale facility of your choosing or we can help sell it for you. The difference at Capture Marine is that we don’t use one yard or marina. Neither do we use just one method of resale such as parking it on a lot. Should you choice, we can put together a targeted marketing plan to quickly resale your asset for the highest possible price. The marketing plan could include the newspaper, direct mail, internet, choice of resale yard or marina, and other creative methods to make your asset stand out from the crowd.
We analyze the market and determine where and how the vessel can best be resold. For example, a 40’ sport fishing vessel is probably best resold near premium fishing centers, right? It is surprising how many of these vessels can be found for sale in areas inland with little chance of resale. We have relationships with the most well known and successful yacht resellers. We even use advanced marketing techniques such as variable data and cross media campaigns to target the audience most likely to buy your asset. Let us put together a marketing plan to get the highest price for your asset in the shortest period of time.

Repo Private Party Repossession
Many other companies simply do not do private party repossession. So what do you do when a vessel you sold is paid for with a bad check? What if the individual is not making scheduled payments?
Most individuals do not realize that they have the same rights as other lenders when it comes to defaulted obligations. Capture Marine, LLC’s experienced investigators and agents can quickly recover your property when other means have failed. Our staff will work with you to find the location of your property, work out a recovery plan, and return the vessel to you.

Fees
Possession of a vessel that cannot be easily towed or otherwise taken is a difficult endeavor. The skills required to handle the variety and types of vessels requires a specialized fee structure and each case is unique.
We assess each situation and the factors involved including knowledge of the vessel’s location, availability of keys to the vessel’s cabin and engines, distance of capture and delivery, storage requirements, time of year, marina conditions, slip or repair fees required, etc.
We will provide a detailed quote for each case and obtain your approval before proceeding. Some general guidelines for charges that may be incurred include skip-tracing or locating the vessel (usually a percentage of the vessel’s book value), a command and possession fee (usually based on the length of the vessel assessed as a cost per foot), and a delivery fee (based on the crew required and number of days to deliver). If we are forced to incur other fees such slip fees or repair fees that are in arrears, those are passed on with no mark up to the customer. Other necessary expenses such as fuel or tow boat fees will also be passed on with no mark up.
